At Daughters of Akan Organics, we firmly believe that a woman’s hair is her crown, and we strive to provide the best possible care for it. We understand the importance of using high-quality ingredients and refuse to cut corners in our products. As a mother of girls, creating results-driven hair products with sustainably sourced ingredients is our top priority. That’s why we start with black soap sourced directly from producers in Bodwease, Greater Accra, Ghana, and include raw Shea and Cocoa butter in our formulations.

Daughters of Akan Organics is rooted in my proud heritage as a daughter of Akan from the Brong Ahafo region in Ghana, West Africa. Growing up, I was surrounded by natural and healing products, which inspired me to take a different approach when I became a mother. Knowing that I was responsible for another life, I began to prioritize healthy options and researched the ingredients in the products I used. I was shocked by what I found and knew that I didn’t want those harmful chemicals near my child. This experience led me to start a holistic journey of avoiding chemicals to the best of my abilities, which included carefully hand-making products with purely natural ingredients. I want to share these products with families who also prioritize natural choices for their loved ones.
